Motorola Edge 70 Pro Review: Premium Design, Impressive Build Quality (2026)

Motorola's Edge 70 Pro: A Design-Focused Smartphone

Motorola's latest flagship, the Edge 70 Pro, showcases the company's unique approach to smartphone design. While some may find its curved display and distinctive shape unconventional, I appreciate the boldness and superior hand feel it offers.

The phone's sleek 7.2mm profile is a testament to Motorola's attention to detail. The textured eco leather back, seamlessly integrated with the color-matched middle frame and camera island, gives the device a premium look and feel. The long-standing 'M' logo, slightly recessed for comfort, adds a touch of class.

Motorola's partnership with PANTONE is a highlight, offering five vibrant colors: Zinfandel, Lily White, Titan, Tea, and Chicory Coffee. Each color variation has a unique texture, from fabric-like Titan to satin-like Tea and marble-like Lily White. The attention to detail extends to the buttons, which are color-matched to the rest of the phone.

However, the lack of standout features in the button department is a minor quibble. The volume rocker and power button could be wider, but their clicky nature makes up for it. The Moto AI button on the left side is a convenient addition, though its singular purpose might be a bit limiting.

The Edge 70 Pro's stereo speaker setup is integrated into the display, leaving the top bezel relatively empty. The bottom bezel, on the other hand, is busy with the main speaker, Type-C port, SIM tray, and microphone. The CE markings are cleverly hidden here, too.

One of the phone's strengths is its build quality and ingress protection. With an IP68/IP69 rating, it can withstand fresh water immersion for up to 30 minutes and high-pressure water jets. MIL-STD-810H compliance ensures it can handle transport and temperature shocks. The front is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i, providing peace of mind.

In terms of controls, the display bezels are thin, and all sensors are discreetly hidden beneath the panel. The optical under-display fingerprint reader is responsive and accurate, ensuring secure and convenient unlocking.

Overall, the Motorola Edge 70 Pro is a design-focused smartphone that prioritizes aesthetics and user experience. Its unique design language, premium build quality, and attention to detail make it a standout choice in the market.
